Lack in Malwarebytes 4.x report

Recommended Posts

I noticed that in the Malwarebytes 4.x "scan reports" the message "scan completed" rather than the message "scan stopped by user" no longer appears.
It was a function present in Malwarebytes 3.x that I thought was useful to let people know if the report was more or less reliable. In fact, an interrupted scan cannot give us the same security as a completed one but there is no way of knowing it in the aftermath.

Greetings,

In Malwarebytes 4.x you should see an entry similar to the following whenever a scan has been cancelled manually:

-Scan Summary-
Scan Type: Threat Scan
Scan Initiated By: Manual
Result: Cancelled
Objects Scanned: 103777
Threats Detected: 0
Threats Quarantined: 0
Time Elapsed: 0 min, 38 sec

The above information was pulled direct from my most recent scan report which was a cancelled Threat scan I initiated manually in Malwarebytes Version 4.0.4.49 Components Version: 1.0.750.  I have not checked to verify that 4.1's logs look the same, however I don't believe they are any different in this regard compared to earlier 4.x releases unless I am mistaken.

I confirm that, as @exile360 says, with the report exported in a .txt file the result appears with deleted or completed.
Unfortunately, nothing similar appears in the summary tab or in the advanced tab of the report within the application
I attach the screenshot (in pieces) of the report inside the app.

Problems with reports continue

I attach three screenshot

  1. Installed version on my PC
  2. Report summary
  3. Report detail

As you can see in screenshot 2 and 3, no report results appear.
Once malwarebytes is closed and reopened, appears the written SCAN COMPLETED (the total number of threats detected in the summary is still missing)

THIS IS THE STEP BY STEP PROCEDURE I PERFORMED AFTER I BOOTED THE PC

  1. I searched if system and all installed apps updates were available as I use the Windows PC VERY RARELY
  2. I opened Malwarebytes from the icon in the system tray.
  3. I checked the updates because I wanted to see if more updates than the definitions were available.
  4. I ran a threats scan.
  5. I viewed the report and saved the screenshots that I posted.
  6. I closed Malwarebytes
  7. I reopened Malwarebytes.
  8. At this point, regarding the report, the word SCAN COMPLETED was present (both in the summary and in the detail) but in the summary there isn't the words NO THREAT DETECTED rather than NUMBER OF THREATS DETECTED.

I reiterate what already said in the past:

  • to be complete the summary should contain the status of the scan (COMPLETED/INTERRUPTED/CANCELED) and the total number of threats found as was in Malwarebytes 3.x
