I created an exception for the following file: C:\Users\***\AppData\Roaming\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe
However it's still being detected on daily, automatic scan.

Why?

  1. Download Malwarebytes Support Tool
  2. Once the file is downloaded, open your Downloads folder/location of the downloaded file
  3. Double-click mb-support-X.X.X.XXXX.exe to run the program
    • You may be prompted by User Account Control (UAC) to allow changes to be made to your computer. Click Yes to consent.
  4. Place a checkmark next to Accept License Agreement and click Next
  5. You will be presented with a page stating, "Get Started!"
  6. Click the Advanced tab on the left column

  7. Click the Gather Logs button

  8. A progress bar will appear and the program will proceed with getting logs from your computer

  9. Upon completion, a file named mbst-grab-results.zip will be found on your Desktop. Click OK

  10. Please attach the file in your next reply. Before submitting your reply, be sure to enable "Notify me of replies" like so:

Looks like it is now considered an PUP.Optional.BundleInstaller. Pardon me I would allow the exe file in program files too.

You may need to add folders below:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\ uTorrent\uTorrent.exe

C:\Program Files\Common Files\ uTorrent\uTorrent.exe

See if that works for you.

There are not such folders on my computer.

Once more, MBAM detects only this:

C:\Users\***\AppData\Roaming\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe

Just a question if you don't mind, is it detecting the file in a scan, or are you getting notifications in the system tray when its running about it blocking a connection?

Hi @Broni,

Thank you for the file.

I see you were experiencing a Real-Time Protection detection for C:\Users\broni\AppData\Roaming\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe; the last of which was from 2 days ago.

The detection in your recent scheduled scans is for C:\USERS\BRONI\APPDATA\ROAMING\UTORRENT\UPDATES\3.5.5_45608.EXE, which is a different file path. You will either need to exclude this file path or the C:\USERS\BRONI\APPDATA\ROAMING\UTORRENT\UPDATES directory.
