Suddenly Malwarebytes interface does not show up

Recommended Posts

Malwarebytes interface does suddenly not show up when I try to open the program. I cannot scan items with Malwarebytes any longer and it does not show the usual operational messages below in the right corner.
It "seems" to be operational in some way because it shows up in the joblist, as you can see in the attached jpg.

Has any of you encountered this issue and do you know a sollution?

Greetings,

This is a known issue that happens under certain conditions.  Generally reinstalling the product over itself should resolve the issue.  You may do so by downloading and installing the latest version of Malwarebytes from here over the top of your existing Malwarebytes installation, then restart your system and everything should be working normally again and hopefully the issue will not return, but please let us know if it does.

Please let us know how it goes.

Thanks

Greetings and thanks for your replies. It's really good to know that help is at hand in here.

For some crazy reason I cannot fully understand Malwarebytes opened to day when I turned on my pc... It seems to be fully functional now.

I am sure that it has been down for many days perhaps weeks because I tried to scan an item without luck some weeks ago, but had no time to look into it.

Perhaps interesting for you guys to know: Yesterday I did try to reinstall Malwarebytes by downloading the latest version, but the installation was stuck halfways for about 15 min. and I had to turn of the pc to kill the installer.

Also - if you still want to hear more of this story - Windows 10 started to install a major update on a restart I did, also yesterday, and that update was soo slow - after more than half an hour we had reached 27% - I also killed that update, by turning of the power of the PC. I don't know if those two things had anything to do with each other.  I know that Windows 10 wants to install a major update, but I have never experience an update with a tempo of 25% per half hour.

Thanks again for your help. I would be happy to hea,r if you have any thoughts on what I just described.

That can have bad results. Never kill a Windows update. some can TAKE 3-5 HOURS ON SOME MACHINES.

To Porthos: You're absolutely right. I know you should never kill an update. But my maschine has Intel7 9th gen processor 32 GB ram and an .M2 systemdisk. I could not imagine that it would take so much time.

My maschine "regretted" the changes on the start up so I think it's good.

It will repeat the update  tonight.

Do you still think it can have bad results when it opened fine and so on?

When my maschine has Intel7 9th gen processor, 32 GB high end RAM and a .M2 SSD system disk, do you seriously think, that a Windows 10 update can last lets say two hours!?

Perhaps we will buy I bigger house soon, to get out of that situation.

No need, Windows "monthly" updates are released on the second Tuesday of each month. Full Version upgrades are usually April/May and Oct/Nov.

Plan accordingly.

Depending on whether it is a regular monthly update or a twice a year feature update. A feature update can take that long on even a fast computer.

Internet speed is also a factor.
