What Version are We on exactly?

Greetings Fellow Forumites.
I've been getting a popup that says "A new and improved version is available click to install free of charge" but every time I click on it it checks for a few seconds and then says current. needless to say I am a bit confused, what Version are We on? 

I am currently running Windows 7 64, with Version 3.0.6.1469.

If you are having technical issues with our Windows product, please do the following:

If you haven’t already done so, please run the Malwarebytes Support Tool and then attach the logs in your next reply:

NOTE: The tools and the information obtained is safe and not harmful to your privacy or your computer, please allow the programs to run if blocked by your system.

  1. Download Malwarebytes Support Tool
  2. Once the file is downloaded, open your Downloads folder/location of the downloaded file
  3. Double-click mb-support-X.X.X.XXXX.exe to run the program
    • You may be prompted by User Account Control (UAC) to allow changes to be made to your computer. Click Yes to consent.
  4. Place a checkmark next to Accept License Agreement and click Next
  5. You will be presented with a page stating, "Get Started!"
  6. Click the Advanced tab on the left column

  7. Click the Gather Logs button

  8. A progress bar will appear and the program will proceed with getting logs from your computer

  9. Upon completion, a file named mbst-grab-results.zip will be found on your Desktop. Click OK

  10. Please attach the file in your next reply. Before submitting your reply, be sure to enable "Notify me of replies" like so:

Greetings,

The latest version of Malwarebytes is currently version 4.0.4.49, component package version 1.0.823.  It looks like you have an older build installed.  You should be able to easily upgrade to the latest version by downloading it and installing it over the top of your existing installation from here.

Please let us know if you have any trouble getting the new version installed or if there is anything else we might assist you with.

By the way, you can always find the latest published release history information for Malwarebytes here, though it is not always necessarily updated immediately after a new version is released, so you can either check the forums here for information about recent releases among the pinned topics at the top of this area or periodically check for new versions by opening Malwarebytes and accessing settings by clicking the small gear icon in the upper right area of the main UI then clicking the Check for updates button found under the General tab.  It will check for any definition updates as well as any available program updates and new versions.

Please try the following to see if it corrects the issue:

  1. Download and run the Malwarebytes Support Tool
  2. Accept the EULA and click Advanced tab on the left (not Start Repair)
  3. Click the Clean button, and allow it to restart your system and then reinstall Malwarebytes, either by allowing the tool to do so when it offers to on restart, or by downloading and installing the latest version from here

If it doesn't, please do the following so that we may take a closer look at your installation to try and determine what might be causing the issues:

  1. Run the Malwarebytes Support Tool
  2. Accept the EULA and click Advanced tab on the left (not Start Repair)
  3. Click the Gather Logs button, and once it completes, attach the zip file it creates on your desktop to your next reply
