Malwarebytes installs but doesnt run

Hey Malware bytes

First post, and not familiar with the rules of forums and the like. god knows how i managed to not know after all the years ion the internets, but whatever

I'm trying to run malware bytes anti malware after downloading it and installing, not without difficulty- i had to change the name of the mbam-setup to Mbytes-setup as per advice from a different site suggesting i might have a virus blocking the access of filename mbam-setup, so that worked fine and Malwarebytes is now installed.

however, i cannot run the program! i have only tried clicking it from the start menu, and the shortcut as well as from the program files section of the hard drive, but cannot get it to work. perusing the forums trying to find a solution, i have the things your team uses to identify problems, such as Hijack this, and other logging tools, but should let you know i am a total novice and only know these programs by name only and nothing more.

really hope you can get back to be, as i truly am at square one here, and hopefully can get it sorted before i have to go away from home again.
