False Positive

Recommended Posts

So, I downloaded a piece of software from a local university webpage. Both the program and the webpage are pretty old, as they are results of research starting in 91. That might explain the 100% anomaly detection. Today I started my laptop to a mb notification of it's detection. I strongly believe it to be a false positive, as I checked it with virus total, that reported no detection (including from mb (?)) and the fact that the software was developed by and downloaded from well meaning people. It's also been used by other researchers as a tool.
Can that be verified? I'll link to the website with the download link:

One interesting thing is that the link says "crit_tool.zip" but the download is an exe, while de other file, "sup_tool.zip" is an actual zip and went undetected.
