Please can anyone help. Today I am getting the Blue Screen of death reportedly due to "mwac.sys". Have looked through the forums, run a Malwarebytes Repair Tool and still the problem exists. I have also ensured that all drivers are up to date and run a Registry Checker. Not sure what else to try.

Any ideas?

Thank you..

The repair tool will not fix the issue. Please enable the BETA updates and install the bets by clicking check for updates. If it does not update at first wait a couple of minutes and try again

Thank you. Tried this and it has made no difference as my PC has crashed twice again since, one whilst trying to write this response.

I note from a Windows update that they installed a "Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool (KB890830). I have been unable to find the executable on the hard drive. Could this be causing an issue that Malwarebytes coders are not aware of?

One cannot remove the update as it is not available for removal

Hello,

Thank you for the report. As the issue still persists with the latest beta update, we'll need to collect some additional troubleshooting data.

Please do the following:

  • Enable event log data in Malwarebytes by opening Settings and turning the Event log data setting on.
  • Reproduce the BSOD.
  • After the blue screen, open C:\Windows and look for MEMORY.dmp.
  • Copy this file to your Desktop. Right-click -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder.
  • Upload the zip file to a file hosting service of your choice (Google Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer, etc) and provide a download link.
  • Gather logs with the Malwarebytes Support Tool once more and provide the generated file: https://support.malwarebytes.com/docs/DOC-2396

My apologies for being so late with my response. Your update fixed the problem and I have had no problems since the 24 January.

Sincere thanks,
