I've had this problem here and there since I began using MB, but it kind of spiked the last week. Circa one out of three times I start my computer, the Malwarebytes Tray Application just won't start, everything MB related is working fine apart from that, and a quick restart always makes the Tray Application start up again.

No problem, really, but is anybody else experiencing this?

Thanks in advance

I suspect that it is probably being caused by the fast startup feature in Windows.  It has been known to cause this and other issues with Malwarebytes and other applications due to the way it retains some processes in memory while shutting down others normally.  This 'hybrid' approach to system startup causes the Malwarebytes tray and service to go out of sync resulting in the issue you are experiencing it, and since fast startup doesn't apply to system restarts, only shutdowns, that explains why performing a system restart resolves it for you.

If you would prefer to eliminate this issue permanently as well as avoid any other potential problems that might be caused by the fast startup feature then you may disable it by following the instructions found here as well as here.

Please let us know how it goes and if there is anything else we might assist you with.
