Unable to install Windows 10, SFC shows Corrupt Files

Recommended Posts

Good morning, Julie.

I do believe we can go forward and wrap up this case.   This pc has a new clean Windows 10 installation.

I would suggest you insure it has Premium Malwarebytes for Windows.

I also suggest you do this in Malwarebytes.

Start Malwarebytes. Click Settings ( gear ) icon. Next, lets make real sure that Malwarebytes does NOT register with Windows Security Center

Click the Security Tab. Scroll down to

"Windows Security Center"

Click the selection to the left  for the line "Always register Malwarebytes in the Windows Security Center".

.

Remember, Backup is your best friend.   Make sure you now have a backup of  this machine on offline backup media.   Make that a regular practice.

.

suggest that ( at your next best opportunity) enable the F8 function key use at machine boot  ( that way you have means to have advanced startup options

See Option One at this article

https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/22455-enable-disable-f8-advanced-boot-options-windows-10-a.html

.

Save and keep safe the USB you made with the Media Creation tool   ( with the Windows 10 )

That can be used as a emergency tool.

.

I suggest that instead of using the Chrome browser, you use the BRAVE browser, which does a much better job as browser & also does well in stopping adverts.

See https://brave.com

install the Malwarebytes Browser Guard extension

Open this link in your BRAVE   ( or Chrome ) browser: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/malwarebytes/ihcjicgdanjaechkgeegckofjjedodee

Then proceed with the setup.

IF you have Mozilla Firefox,    To get & install the Malwarebytes  Firefox Browser Guard.

Open this link in your Firefox browser: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/malwarebytes/

Then proceed with the setup.

I wish you well.

Sincerely,

Maurice
