Hi,

I don't know if I'm the only one, but I have a problem, I have no virus or malware on my PC (ran WD and MD), but since 2 days, I have a problem I identified : My connection seems to be slowed down, some pages won't load or taking time to load (for those which are not loading, I have the message from firefox (or chrome on chrome) to check my connection or firewall), It's really perceptible when I'm loading multiple tabs. My connection my itself is working fine, I did a speedtest.

What I did to verify the fact I'm thinking MB is doing something in that, as I said I did virus/malware scan nothing, I didn't download any program (except updates) since a long time, I don't answer to nigerian prince or FBI in my spam. I tried with another computer and that one hasnt MB up to date, and don't have the bug. Mine is up to date recently few days ago. So I shut down MB and relaunch 15-20 tabs at the same time, and no problem, everything is fine. I relaunched MB and its services, relaunch the same tabs, more or less, I have the problem back, slow loading or not loading for most of them. I did the test few times with different websites, I always have the same result, my connection seems to be slowed when MB is up. It feels like a latency, maybe MB is checking too much something on tabs and then it doens't load them as fast as it should. I don't know but I don't think that''s a coincidence after 3-4 attempts that MB isn't doing something wrong.

thanks for your help in advance

EDIT : MB version : 4.0.4.49 / update package 1.0.17722 / component version 1.0.793

I didn't say that, but of course I'm cleaning the cache of the browser before the test.

So I did what you told me, and without ransomware detection, that way way faster, a bit slower than when MB is completely shut down or before the trouble, but nothing super bad about speed. I almost had no trouble to load 23 tabs at the same time, that took a bit more time than it should be, on three tests I had only 2 tabs with the error about no connection etc... So that's better than when ransomware detection is up but the issue is still there

Then swap web protection for ransomware protection and test again.

This is so easy reproducible.

1.Open the Firefox

2. Open 10 tabs of random sites.

3 Close the Firefox wait 5 sec and reopen it.

4. Go in history and restore previous session.

5. Now go with mouse and try to click every tab. The Mozilla hangs every time you try to click a tab.

that hangs only if MB is running, that's better when ransomware protection isn't running, but definitely way slower than before.

Well, whatever one of the fourth protection activated, that slows or stops the access, that's not only ransomware protection or malware protection

here's the result

You might start by disabling some of your add-ons in Firefox starting with Kaspersky.

I disabled all add-ons in Firefox  but It doesnt work.

Please try the current beta to see if it helps?

You can install it by enabling the option for beta updates near the bottom of the General tab found under settings which you can access by clicking the small gear icon in the upper right area of the main Malwarebytes UI.  Once enabled, scroll back near the top of the same tab and click the Check for updates button and allow it to download and install the new update, then restart your system, remove the exclusion you created and test to see if the issue is resolved.

@jakobdylan

Your machine has Kaspersky Internet Security  version 19.0.0.1088

Is that correct?

Can you start Kaspersky, look at the very bottom of screen,  click the "Support"  icon   ( 2nd from left)  & look on next screen.   Get the full version including any Letter suffix.

IF you keep getting Firefox issues,  you may consider to turn off the Ransomware protection in the Malwarebytes Premium.

Having this same problem. Primarily a Chrome user, but it shows in Firefox as well. It's particularly slow on some sites, like webex.com (when visiting a team room site at a custom company url), or to-do.microsoft.com, but everything is ultimately affected.

I found I can 'immediately' remedy the issue by disabling 'Web Protection'. When I turn it on, the problem comes back. I've done the ipconfig /flushdns, tried different DNS servers, and other things ad nauseam. When I reboot, I maybe get 20-30 minutes of relief, where everything will be relatively fast, but then it slowly devolves back into slowness.

The only sure fire thing that 'solves' the problem is disabling 'Web Protection' in MB.

I turned the beta track on, and that isn't helping (unless I turn web protection off).

In the event there is something about how web protection works that could be visible to (and throttled by) our IPs, mine is Cox (Phoenix).

Hi,

This should be of interest to all who have both Kaspersky 2020  and Malwarebytes 4 Premium

There is a new Malwarebytes Beta 4.1.0.56 version 1.0.853 component package update that addresses a few issues.  Those include

Quote

Certain Ransomware protection incompatibilities with Kaspersky, iTunes and Photoshop

See the announcement here https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/257042-malwarebytes-41-beta/?do=findComment&comment=1367093

If your Malwarebytes 4 program is already enabled to Beta option, a number of you will be prompted to get the update.

If your pc does not have 1.0.853 component package update, and are in the Beta, you can just go to the General tab and do a "Check for updates"

If you need to turn on the Beta option, go to Settings >> General tab, scroll down to Beta Updates and enable it.

If you elect to not get the beta, monitor the top pinned notes for future announcement of release

https://forums.malwarebytes.com/forum/41-malwarebytes-for-windows-support-forum/

You can easily check the details of your MB4 installation by going to Settings >  About tab

NOTE:  IF you currently have the standalone Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware Beta, you will want to uninstall that first & do a Windows Restart & then get the BETA  MB4.
