mwac.sys BSOD win 10 1903

Recommended Posts

Windows 10 vers 1903. I have been using Malwarebytes free as an on demand cleaner for years with no problems. Recently decided to start using the pro version. Paid for it activated.

Recently I started getting Blue Screen of Death which references the cause as mwac.sys. I finally had to boot to safe mode and uninstall Malwarebytes to get my system back. I have been experiencing slow boots and having to wait 5 to 10 minutes after boot before my system would function at normal speed. After removing Malwarebytes it seems normal again.

I don't know if there is a fix for this or not, but don't plan to reinstall pro version right away.

Greetings,

I'm sorry that the software is not functioning properly but hopefully it will be fixed soon.  There is an existing known issue where this can occur and you can find more details here.  If you have any memory dumps from the crashes it would be very helpful if you could provide them for the Developers to help their investigation in troubleshooting this issue.  You can zip and attach them here, or if they are too large, simply upload them to WeTransfer.com and select the option to share the file as a link and then post the download link here.

Thanks

The support tool worked to remove all instances of Malwarebytes from my computer. After reboot without Malwarebytes, speed was back to normal, no more 5 to 10 minute wait for speed to normalize so I could get work done. I have reinstalled the FREE Malwarebytes and the system boot time and availability are still normal. I will not put premium (paid for already)  back on until I hear the fix is released.
