Address is not registered, yet I get email from them

I bought a lifetime subscription and have since fried that PC, now I need to activate for my new PC and the site doesn't recognize my account or email. How do I get said information if I cannot get into the site? The Malwarebytes license wants 2 pieces of information. I have the old license number but it also wants a license ID. Please Help.

If you haven’t already done so, please run the Malwarebytes Support Tool and then attach the logs in your next reply:

  1. Download Malwarebytes Support Tool
  2. Once the file is downloaded, open your Downloads folder/location of the downloaded file
  3. Double-click mb-support-X.X.X.XXXX.exe to run the program
    • You may be prompted by User Account Control (UAC) to allow changes to be made to your computer. Click Yes to consent.
  4. Place a checkmark next to Accept License Agreement and click Next
  5. You will be presented with a page stating, "Get Started!"
  6. Click the Advanced tab on the left column

  7. Click the Gather Logs button

  8. A progress bar will appear and the program will proceed with getting logs from your computer

  9. Upon completion, a file named mbst-grab-results.zip will be found on your Desktop. Click OK

  10. Please attach the file in your next reply. Before submitting your reply, be sure to enable "Notify me of replies" like so:

Lifetime licenses include both an ID and Key, however if you cannot locate one of them then you will need to look the info up.  First, please try signing up for an account at My.Malwarebytes.com using, if possible, the same email address you used when you originally purchased your license.  Instructions on doing so can be found in this support article.

Once that is done you should be able to sign in and retrieve your license as well as deactivate it if it is still showing as active from your previous system/installation.

If your license doesn't show up or you no longer have access to that original email address then please try adding your license key to your account manually as detailed in this support article.

If the issue is still not resolved then please contact Malwarebytes Support directly and they will assist you further.  To do so, please fill out the form on the bottom of this page.

As a caution, just please do not mention or write your email address or license keys here on the forum.

I am of the view that the best way to activate your license is on the Malwarebytes program itself.   Just hold off on that for a while.

I want to point out first, that you have to know whether your license came with 2 elements  ( a ID part  and a Key part) ?   The very newest ones only come with a single string.

So that is one factor.    Though my guess is that yours did come with a ID   and key.


NOTE:  You may have to get in contact with Support thru a support ticket if the Malwarebytes system lists the license as already in use.

Assuming you bought licenses directly from Malwarebytes, you would have supplied a Email at the original purchase.

That same email is what you should use to login to Malwarebytes MyAccount.


If you have misplaced or do not have the password for that login, use the blue "Forgot password" link.

Keep in mind that the Email has to be valid and active.


Chat support is available on the Support web portal.  It is available during normal work days, during a set of business hours.

That being able to do that login and then to see what it shows there for Licenses is an important factor.

If you do not see your license listed there, you can not make headway on your own.  In the latter case, you will need to create a Support help ticket  ( if not already done).

There are several help articles on the Support portal about the topic of licenses, de-activation, re-activation.

Patience is the watchword.
 I would encourage you, if you have not already done so, to create a Help Ticket with Support.   This forum can only provide you generic type help.

Do scroll down to the section “Create Ticket”.

Please double check that you supply a valid / properly spelled & correct Email  ( hopefully the same one you used at the time or original purchase).
