Hi @paul95682,

Thanks for the report. To verify if this is the same issue as the original poster, could you zip up and provide us with the C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP file please.
The file will need to be uploaded to a file hosting service of your choice (Google Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer, etc). Please provide us with the download link.

I did the Clean step using your support tool, which removed Malwarebytes (I had to force shutdown because the support tool was keeping me from shutting down) .  And I have not re-installed it yet.  So no I have not had the problem again, but don't have malwarebytes installed yet and need to go to work.  So I will install it later and let you know if the same problem exists.

Did you see anything in the memory.dmp that I need to be aware of?

Hello @paul95682

From an initial check of the Dump file it does look like the cause is mwac.sys and also the error in the stack is the one we are aware of.

We are working on a solution for this issue and should be fixed soon in one of the upcoming updates.

For now, try to re-install MB 4.0.4 and check if you get the BSOD again with Web-Protection turned on.

I got the same BSOD error with MWAC.SYS today.....https://drive.google.com/open?id=1BJYT2gtOiggfpt-Slz1vfQ20UMBVSkqm  is the link to the memory dump file

Please do the following so that we may investigate this issue:

  1. Download and run the Malwarebytes Support Tool
  2. Accept the EULA and click Advanced tab on the left (not Start Repair)
  3. Click the Gather Logs button, and once it completes, attach the zip file it creates on your desktop to your next reply

Thanks

I have it set to automatically download and install new updates, and ran a scan today before which it checks for new updates...why wouldn't it have found that update on its own?  I did just manually check for updates and it did some kind of updating....

It will in time, however new versions are metered out to users gradually over time, but if you wish to avoid the wait you may open Malwarebytes and navigate to Settings and click on the Install Application Updates button and the new version should be downloaded and offered to you which is what I had you do.

Keeps us posted if you have any more BSOD's.
