The fix is now available in the latest version of the standalone Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware Beta. We plan to make this available for Malwarebytes version 4 in an upcoming release. I've been running fine with MB 4.x and KIS 19.x on my nine Windows 10 systems (three of them with the MB QT enhancements disabled). I hope that the fix will be tested "in-house" with various Kaspersky versions (KAV,KIS,KTS) before pushing it out on customers to test. Also if any exclusions are still necessary in Kaspersky regarding MB 4.x that will be helpful for customers to know ahead of time rather than suffering any further ill affects. There has been no 'fix' update that addresses the Kaspersky conflict. Not in the Malwarebytes for Windows 4.x There is a prospective future update in a ( future ) update for MB4. I understand your frustration and since you have been active here with possible workarounds and future solutions I am sorry you have to give up MB. I find it frustrating how Malwarebytes still haven't released an updated version including a fix for this. Not even seen a beta version to try. The issue has been known for months now and Kaspersky is one of the major AV providers. I tried this on both my desktop and laptop after rebooting and experienced all the same issues as before with Chrome, Firefox, not being able to turn off the PC, freeaes etc. I went ahead and turned off the Ransomware again and everything is back to normal. It's still working on my test machines. Can you please collect and upload the diagnostic data using our MBST? This is the component version in your logs Controllers Version: 1.0.848 This shows the Beta setting is not enabled Beta Application Updates: OFF The release 1.0.853 which has this fix is in Beta. To obtain the Beta release, you'll need to enabled Beta updates in the Malwarebytes application. To do so, go to Settings > General > Beta updates and toggle that setting on. Then, click on Check for updates at the top of the same General tab. You should be on Component package version 1.0.853 after the Beta is applied. As Maurice suggests, it would make sense to remain in Beta mode until we make the next release generally available. This is to ensure you get any Beta refreshes we might make ahead of that release. That being said, there are no further changes planned for the Ransomware Protection component in this next release. We truly appreciate all our customers, and our Beta participants. Im late to the party and just started having these issues when I updated everything (after finally folding and installing Win10) Had to remove Malwarebytes just to get back online and come to the forum - I really want to run both and I'm reading through this thread and its tax season so Im kinda sleep deprived and all the different comments are making my head hurt... We tested on more than 60 different computers at two companies, clean installations and different hardware versions and we have the same problem as you.
