Windows 10 version 1909 issue with MB4

Recommended Posts

Hello.

This indeed isn't just some single isolated issue.

I also have this exact same sounding problem since 2 days ago. Only difference that I noticed is that I'm running Windows 10 version 1903. Otherwise similar symptoms: when the real-time protection is on for malware protection, everything on the computer starts extremely slow (from browsers to other software, video file, Malwarebytes software itself etc.).

So now I'm forced to run with malware real-time protection off, else the computer is unusable.

Even like this with malware protection off, I can notice the actual Malwarebytes software is laggy and low frames when it's opened up and I move my mouse on the app. I have a powerful computer (i7-8700K, 16 GB DDR4, GTX 1080Ti and a 144Hz monitor) and I really see the mouse cursor turn very sluggish and warpy when the Malwarebytes app is opened thanks to the difference from normal mouse movement on high Hz monitor. My Windows is otherwise up-to-date, except I haven't installed the latest feature pack (1909).

I'm a long time MB user and I updated to MB4.0 1st December. At that point there weren't any slowdowns or problems. The massive slowdown issues started 4-5th December and seemingly I hadn't changed anything in my setup then or received noticeable updates that would have changed the situation. Things just turned into epic slow-motion when booting things up.

When MB3 was released, it also had some serious performance issues and other bugs. I hope this is smoother and there's no need for some break from the software, because otherwise I do like the software you offer a lot!

As a follow-up, as I couldn't spot a button to edit my previous post, I have Malwarebytes as the only extra security software installed on my computer. Windows Defender is also on and active. No other antivirus or anti-malware etc. exists and Windows Firewall is enabled.

Greetings,

Please provide the following so that we may gather more data to attempt to discover the root cause of these issues:

  1. Download and run the Malwarebytes Support Tool
  2. Accept the EULA and click Advanced tab on the left (not Start Repair)
  3. Click the Gather Logs button, and once it completes, attach the zip file it creates on your desktop to your next reply

Thanks
