Shut Down PC IF Scan Finds No Problems?

Is there a way or an option to shut down the PC if the scan finds no problems?  I would like to run a scan every night before I go to bed. I currently have a scan scheduled for 3 am, but I don't like leaving my computer on 24x7. If I don't leave it on all night, it takes 20-30 minutes to run a threat scan when I boot it up in the morning, which is a pain.  If there IS no way to do this currently, I would like to suggest that such an option be added in some future release.  Thanks!

Currently there is no way to have the computer shut down after a scheduled scan.  Best you can do is schedule the scan to happen when the computer is on, so I suggest you change the time from 3AM to something earlier while the computer is on.

Thanks exile360; the option of just doing a scan at another time (when the computer is already on) just means that the new 20-30 minute scan-period would also be pretty much useless for doing anything else.  It'd be great if Development would consider adding this as an option.  Thank you for forwarding this to them.  :-)

Once the computer is fully on, I do not notice any impact on my system with a scheduled scan. They are scheduled in the afternoon.

You can always delete the scheduled scan and do a manual threat scan at the end of the day (should not take too long and then shut down.

One additional thing to note: scheduled scans actually run as low priority tasks so that your system isn't fully loaded and you should still be able to actually use the system for other tasks (though resource intensive tasks such as gaming and video editing etc. may still be impacted to some extent).  Of course much also depends on the type of system you have, how many cores/threads available in your CPU, how much RAM you have and how fast your storage solution is, but overall the impact of scheduled scans is greatly reduced compared to a scan launched manually.

In my opinion running a scan everyday is not necessary, when you install an program such as MB or an anti virus its important to run a scan immediately as it will pick up any malware on your system, after that run a scan maybe once a week, MB or any AV is there for your protection, running a scan everyday seems like you don't trust the protection that is provided. Its there protecting you, why run so many scans if your protected? Its either going to detect something or not, if not why scan? I run a scan maybe once a month. You don't need to scan unless you think something is amiss.

That's true, frequent scans really aren't necessary under most circumstances and I typically scan maybe once or twice a month at the most (and even then it's really just to test the performance of the engine; I haven't had any sort of actual infection on any of my PCs for the past 15 years or so).
