Animation in MWB 4.0.27

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Is there some way to stop the animation or to upgrade to an older version? I have a visual motion sensitivity, and the animation after mousing over and/or clicking "scanner" can be a migraine trigger.

Greetings,

I'm not certain if this helps or not as I am a Windows user, however the guide for Malwarebytes for Mac v4 indicates that there is an option to change the icon to black and white, however I don't know if that is what you were referring to or not.  You may see what I am referring to in this page of the guide.  The table of contents for the guide can be found here.

In the meantime, I have made a note of your feedback and will be sure to pass it on to the Product team for review and consideration.

A member of Support should respond here to provide a more qualified answer than the one I provided since I am a Windows user, however I hope this helps.

No, not that.

If I mouse over, a black border appears.

If I click, the button animates expanding.

Hello @MarjaE:

Having lived the very best part of my life with a migraine sufferer, and being a Malwarebytes for Mac 4.0.27 user, I believe staff/developers should be made more aware of computer graphics that trigger the long known Spontaneous Visually Induced Migraine Headaches.

I am not stating it could or will happen, or if it might, or when would a change could be possible.  Would you welcome a possible/future user option switch that would disable GUI features with animation/motion that are not critical to normal operation?

Thank you.

Thanks for your feedback. We'll definitely look into how we can make the software compatible with the Reduce motion option in System Preferences -> Accessibility -> Display. I can't promise any kind of timeframe for when that can be done, but we'll look into it.
