Malwarebytes 4, report displayed with error

Recommended Posts

Using Malwarebytes 4 this happens to me

I ran three scans, respectively in the order:

  • Threat scan,
  • Custom scan,
  • Threat scan

The reports are saved correctly in txt format but looking at them on video at the end of the scan before saving the reports on txt file, this happens:

  • in the first case concerning a threat scan, the report is displayed correctly
  • in the second case concerning a custom scan of disk C, with all the options selected, in the report is displayed Threat scan
  • in the third case concerning a threat scan in the report is displayed custom scan

Once saved if I go to see them in Malwarebytes they are displayed correctly.

I don't know if the problem concerns only the Italian version though.

Thanks for your attention.

Greetings

Massimiliano

The scans were all manual (with the scheduled ones I didn't look)

At the end of the scan I click on show report

When it is displayed, sometimes (but not always) in the advanced section, the type of scan does not correspond to the one performed.

At this point I export the report to a .txt file

In the file the report is correct and if I go to review the report inside Malwarebytes at this point (after export) also here appears correct.

I had already noticed in the last few days some inconsistencies not always present between the displayed scan and the scan performed.

It also happens, as you will see from the attached scan (even sporadically here), that you create two identical reports (by date and time) and sometimes with scans of different types, one correct and one wrong.

In the case of the test of these minutes he created two identical reports but when I returned to reopen Malwarebytes, to verify if they changed to some other value, one was no longer present, this within a few moments.

As you can see it should be impossible to have two reports with the same date and time and now there is only one more of the two

I hope I was helpful

A greeting

Massimiliano

Hello,

Thank you for the information. We've filed a defect for the scan information discrepancies displayed at the end of a scan. This should be addressed at some point in the future.

Regarding the multiple scan reports being created - could you run the Malwarebytes Support Tool, gather logs with it and attach the generated mbst-grab-results.zip please?

I thank you for the answer.

I have performed the tests you requested.

I can state with absolute certainty that the duplication of the Report, which you see in the file cattura, occurs only in the case in which the report is exported.
The thing is temporary, in fact you can see in the file cattura2 that the duplicate report has disappeared after closing and reopening Malwarebytes
without me removing it.

I add that the REMOVE ALL function does not always delete all the reports, or at least it is a graphic problem since if I go back to the MWB homescreen and then open the REPORTS tab these are no longer present.

I am attaching the log of the support tool and the two screens

If you need anything else, don't hesitate to ask.
Good evening (at least in Italy)

Thank you.

Could you update to the latest component package version? The version number is 1.0.750 and can be found within Settings: About.

This should address the issue with duplicate scan reports appearing. It won't address the inaccurate information displayed within the scan report. This will be fixed in a future update.

I confirm, the problem of duplication has been solved, however the report is not completely viewable: for example the wording Versione pacchetto componenti and the name of the user are partially too much at the edges (but this is due to my name MASSIMILIANO which is of good 12 letters) and the scanning options are not all present and those present are cut.
I attach the screenshot

  • 2 months later...

Thanks

With Malwarebytes 4.0.4.49 and Component package version 1.0.801  the display problem has been solved

There is still a translation problem (see the attached screen)

report.JPG.324ceab0b09b7c6e8d2d4742a9a5989d.JPG

PUPs are translated cuccioli. It is the literal translation however in Italian the word cuccioli indicates the little ones of the animals.

There is a further display problem during the scan in which, even maximizing the screen, the item of automatic execution elements (at least in Italian) is cut. (See attached screen)

I hope the report is useful, sure that the problems will be solved as soon as possible.

Thank you

Good evening (at least in Italy).

Massimiliano
