Page Unresponsive Error

Recommended Posts

Ever since I installed the latest version of Malwarebytes (4.0..4.49) I have had continuous unresponsive pages with google chrome and Mozilla Firefox.

I have run the Malewarebytes support tool and all seems well util I run a scan, at which time the scan checks for updates, then checks memory, then checks start up programs, then checks the registry, all fine.

But when it checks the file system, it hangs up for hours and hours. It has ran for as long as eleven hours without finishing a scan.

I need help with this.

Thanks

Robert

Can you please try the following @Robert2054

Please go into Control Panel, Programs, Add/Remove and uninstall the following software.

Java
RogueKiller

Then download the following batch file to your system and save it. Then locate it and right click over it and choose "Run as administrator"
https://malwarebytes.app.box.com/s/hbxc3vcb8spn2dv6qvnrrtumvrb8iv36

Once that is done the run the following.

Please download the attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop.
NOTE. It's important that both files, FRST or FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work.

NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on this particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system.

Run FRST or FRST64 and press the Fix button just once and wait.
If the tool needs a restart please make sure you let the system restart normally and let the tool complete its run after restart.
The tool will make a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please attach or post it to your next reply.

Note: If the tool warned you about an outdated version please download and run the updated version.

fixlist.txt

Then after the reboot. Log back in and give the computer a couple minutes to settle down and try running a new Threat scan with Malwarebytes and let me know how it runs now.

Thanks

Ron

I did the remove and reinstall.

Scan has now scanned 241,996 files and has progressed down to the "Scanning File System" portion of the screen.

It has just sat there clocking for 36 minutes and 24 seconds.

The pause and cancel buttons at the bottom of the scan screen are not greyed out.

I will let it scan for awhile longer in case it just needs more time.
