MBAE's effectiveness compared to Win10's own exploit protection?

I'm using Malwarebytes Anti-Exloit v1.13.1.117 on Windows 10 v1809.
I heard some people say "there is no need for additional anti-exploit tools, since Windows10 already provides its own set of anti-exploit technologies". What is your response to these claims? How much of MBAE's functionality is overlapping with Windows' own anti-exploit functions? And are there any measures of the effectiveness of MBAE compared to "only Win10's anti-exploit"?

MBAE should provide more enhanced protection than that of Windows Defender. Yes there is overlap as some basics of protection are common.
