I also don't understand how both MB and AVG didnt catch this sooner.

As said above Malwarebytes does not target script and the ad-network (that i think it comes from) may have been blackliste after you got it

Just an FYI that AVG was bought out a few years ago. Not sure how much longer it will be supported.

Your Operating System shows the following.

Product Name:        Windows 10 Home
Architecture:        x64

I would personally recommend that you use Windows Defender which is built-in to Windows 10 and is a decent antivirus product. Along with Malwarebytes Premium that is a pretty good combo. However, Ads and tracking are not well supported by most anti-malware or anti-virus applications. That is where Ad blockers come in.

Please read and watch some videos from the following information and it will help you keep your privacy and data much better protected from drive-by stuff like this.

If you're not backing up your data and you're still using Google Chrome then you're just not serious about Privacy, Safety, and protecting your data. Malwarebytes is a fantastic program but you still need to back up your data and you still need to block scripts and Ads in your browser.
If you're still using Google Chrome I would highly suggest you consider using Firefox instead. For more advanced users you might consider installing NoScript as well (it does have a higher learning curve though)
