PUP/Quarantine notification daily for a Chrome file

Recommended Posts

Everyday I get a notice regarding "C:\USERS\Named User\APPDATA\LOCAL\GOOGLE\CHROME\USER DATA\Default\Web Data"

and that it's been quarantined as a pup

I've searched on it, and only found that version 3 was suppose to get along better with Chrome

How do I A: stop chrome from making the file?
          or   B: preclude it from scanning

the first thing the linked page asks me to do is update MWB;
Funny thing is we have MWB for our business, and I've seen no update notices,
however my installed MWB client now says it's current version is 3.8?  when I checked my version this am it was 3.1;
after running the scan in the support tool; it apparently upgraded ny client; which informed me I have a 14 days left in my Trial?

Since this is a business computer and your running Malwarebytes for business, you should have your IT staff help you correct your issues.  Sorry but since you did not mention that ahead of time, the steps to fix your issue would have been different (for example we would not have had you uninstall/upgrade, however the other steps would have applied).

You will have to talk with your IT staff to get it corrected and your Malwarebytes license re-applied.

Hello @Ramer-TMG

I would highly suggest you contact Business Support to assist with your version, licensing, and the PUP issue at this point. I've moved your topic into the business section of the forums

Thank you

Yes, and working with Business Support would be the recommended advice. Business uses different versions of software from the Consumer version, so advice provided for the Consumer version may not apply to the version your company has purchased.

Product: Malwarebytes Endpoint Agent

I can try to get someone from Business Support to assist here on the forums but often businesses don't want to put too many logs out in public.
