Do i need a antivirus or like malwarebytes for macOS?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,
So, my macbook pro 2017 non touchbar just start glitching out and all the words in the menu bar slowly started dissappearing, which made me think whether I should download an antivirus to check on it, havent downloaded any suspicious stuff, and quick reboot with the power button seemed to solve it but just asking just in case.

Any advice?

Those symptoms are not symptoms of malware. It's entirely possible that there could be something on your machine, but it wouldn't be related to those symptoms. If you continue to see that, I'd recommend that you contact Apple support.

And Yes, you need an anti-virus for a Mac.  They are no longer safe from hackers and malware/viruses.

Thanks. I obviously agree, but it would be rather self-serving for me to say it. :)
