NordVPN server breach

Recommended Posts

Bad news for NordVPN, one of the many privacy focused VPN providers that provides users with anonymous web surfing and security.  One of their servers was infiltrated via an exploit of a piece of management software that was on the system from the datacenter provider that Nord was unaware of at the time.  No user credentials were compromised and no user logs were extracted since Nord doesn't store logs, however apparently the attackers did gain access to 3 of the TLS encryption keys used for protecting users' traffic.

It seems no one is safe these days and no company's data is truly secure.  It makes you wonder whether or not all of this data large companies like Microsoft, Google and Facebook is really worth it and just how long it will be until one of their major user data storage systems is compromised.
