Malwarebytes 3 won't run

Recommended Posts

Greetings,

Please try disabling AVG temporarily to see if you are then able to get Malwarebytes installed and running.  I would suggest disabling or removing AVG temporarily, then doing the following:

  1. Run the Malwarebytes Support Tool
  2. Accept the EULA and click Advanced tab on the left (not Start Repair)
  3. Click the Clean button, and allow it to restart your system and then reinstall Malwarebytes, either by allowing the tool to do so when it offers to on restart, or by downloading and installing the latest version from here

Once that is done, assuming it worked and Malwarebytes is now installed and working, re-enable AVG and exclude the items listed in this support article from AVG's real-time protection and hopefully that will prevent any issues.

If Malwarebytes still would not install and work properly even with AVG disabled then please try installing Malwarebytes in Safe Mode.  If that worked, restart your PC to verify that Malwarebytes is able to run normally.

If the issue still persists and Malwarebytes still would not install and run then please read and follow the instructions in this topic and then create a new topic in the malware removal area by clicking here and one of our malware removal specialists will assist you in checking your system for any threats that might be preventing Malwarebytes from functioning properly.

Please let us know how it goes.

Thanks
