Malwarebytes Premium and Malwarebytes Browser Guard

Yes, Malwarebytes Browser Guard blocks items that the Web Protection component in Malwarebytes Premium does not as it is able to use behavior based blocking to detect/block things like tech support scams and some other types of malicious sites and it also blocks ads, trackers (to protect privacy), as well as clickbait links/sites; items which the Web Protection component in Malwarebytes Premium does not block so you benefit from using both together.

The browser guard has no way to know/detect you have MB premium. At least at this time.

Yes, the 'Get Full Protection' banner promoting Premium is just a static image because at least for now, there is no way for an extension inside a web browser to detect what other software might be installed on the system because it is essentially 'sandboxed' inside the web browser and cannot check to determine if Premium is already installed/active or not.  This has been reported to the Product team and we are hopeful that they will be able to find some kind of solution with the Developers so that it is able to detect when Malwarebytes Premium is already present on the system.

I had Premium, but when I saw the line: Get Full Protection, I thought I didn't have Premium. 😂

In life you need to learn to ignore some things. The first time I clicked the banner Get Full Protection and realized it for just a way to get Malwarebytes which I have had for years.

I now hardly notice it.
