For the new beta version - what is the version on the UI

Recommended Posts

I have downloaded and installed the beta (I think), but the UI shows the same info as the regular MB which is 3.8.3.  After the download and the execution of the MBSetup.exe the UI looks the same and the version number has not changed.  Do I need to uninstall the 3.8.3 version and then run setup?  thanks for any feedback on this.

Greetings,

No, you shouldn't need to uninstall version 3.8.3 first, however it is possible that something went wrong during the upgrade process.  Please try restarting your system to see if the new UI shows up, and if it is still the previous version then please try installing the beta once again, and if it still shows version 3.8.3 then please do the following:

  1. Download and run the Malwarebytes Support Tool
  2. Accept the EULA and click Advanced tab on the left (not Start Repair)
  3. Click the Gather Logs button, and once it completes, attach the zip file it creates on your desktop to your next reply

Please let us know how it goes, and if necessary, please provide the requested ZIP file.

Thanks

Hi @mrmodo,

Thanks for the report. Please could you also provide us with the following files so we can look further into the issue you encountered:

  • %temp%\mbsetup.log
  • %systemroot%\temp\mbamiservice.log
  • %systemroot%\temp\mb_errors*.log (e.g. C:\Windows\temp\mb_errors5674.log)
