I've just been running a 'Threat Scan' and after 50 + hours it was still in the 'scan system file'!

Should it take that long???

BTW... I also have the latest Norton 360 and that scan on our HOME computer was super fast.

It definitely shouldn't take that long.  It is possible there is an issue such as a conflict with your Norton software.  Please restart the computer and then try creating exclusions for Malwarebytes in Norton and hopefully that will resolve the issue.  The list of items to exclude from Norton's real-time protection can be found in this support article.
