Help with Removal

Recommended Posts

Hi,  @onphiya

My name is Maurice. I will be helping and guiding you, going forward on this case.

NOTE:  It is not clear what "driver" you mean here  >> Ethernet driver has been installed along with a new USB driver.  <<

IF this pc is only using the WIFI connection, then lets have you get it directly connected with a ethernet cable connection to the internet hardware router.

This pc is a Windows 10.  The Networking applets from within it can be used to look at the connection status & to disconnect > Reconnect & it also can be used to troubleshoot.

As far as the internet connection issue, you should drill thru the Windows Settings  and drilling thru the Network section  and doing a thorough review.

Windows Settings >>> Network and Internet

That is the best place to review.  Look for whether pc shows a internet connection.  Click the Show available network  and see what the status is.

Windows 10 has an excellent network troubleshooter.

Please study closely this Microsoft help article "Fix network connection issues in Windows 10 "

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4038658/windows-10-fix-network-connection-issues

and "Fix network connection issues in Windows"
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/10741

.

As a measure of Last Resort.

this script may help but keep in mind it is not a cure-all.

Start NOTEPAD { you can press Windows-key+R keys to get the RUN option
and then type in

NOTEPAD.exe

and press Enter key to start NOTEPAD.

Check and make sure "word wrap" is off.
From Notepad main menu bar, Select F (format) and make sure Word Wrap is NOT checked.
IF it -is- checkmarked, click that one time so that it is un-checked.

Please copy/paste the lines below to Notepad:

@Echo on
pushd\windows\system32\drivers\etc
attrib -h -s -r hosts
echo 127.0.0.1 localhost>HOSTS
attrib +r +h +s hosts
popd
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset all
netsh int ip reset resetlog.log
shutdown -r -t 1
del %0

now Save as flush.bat to your desktop.
Double-click flush.bat file to run it. Your computer will reboot.

Keep me advised.

Sincerely,

Internet was working before toolkit removal and adw restarted to run first and saw no internet when it tried updating and that's why I attached the first logs to see if anything is missing or needed and already tried reinstalling driver

You had said "" cleaned with Toolset ""

Can you provide any log from it ?

The FRST you had provided from the beginning cant show why the internet connection is not there.

And once more, I have to ask, What does the Windows 10 Network status show ??

Can you look at yours?

Can you perhaps provide a screen grab image of it ?

NOTE:  LOOK real close for your "home network" name on the list of available networks.  The one identified to your home-internet-router has to be there.

Keep looking for it.   Be sure your pc is connected and logged in to it.

At worst case, contact the Tech Support at your Internet Service Provider service for diagnosis and tips on how to connect.

Download   Farbar's Service Scanner utility
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/farbar-service-scanner/dl/62/
and Save to your Desktop.

If using Windows 7/8 or Vista, Right-Click on fss.exe and select Run As Admisnitrator.
If using XP, double-click to start.

Answer Yes to ok when prompted.

If your firewall then puts out a prompt, again, allow it to run.

Once FSS is on-screen, be sure the following items are checkmarked:
Internet Services
Windows Firewall
System Restore
Security Center/Action Center
Windows Update
Windows Defender
Other services

Click on "Scan".
It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run.
Copy & Paste contents of FSS.txt into your reply.

You should check with Dell Support about the proper driver for this machine.

That is the best thing for you to do.

Just as another reminder, though, about the Windows network connection.  You did not tell me IF you clicked on the "Show available networks"  and what you did after that.

I have installed the driver from the website and will reach out to them to double check. Too eliminate I tried a USB drive to see and it installs sees networks but no internet. Also driver doesn't show errors in device mgr either. It's gotta be something else.

I would suggest to you that Dell Support is your best choice on this.

One of the screen grabs above shows that Windows shows a Ethernet connection.

I am not sure what you may be implying about "something else"?

You can certainly run a scan with Malwarebytes for Windows.

Added notes:

At risk of repeating myself, Dell support can help you to insure the proper driver is installed for the network card on this machine.

Your Internet service provider can help you on insuring you have the proper entries to use their network.

Beyond all that & perhaps related to it, you can run a command prompt to get detail on connection.

Press Windows-key and hold and the  tap the X key to then choose Command prompt ( Admin )

in the elevated command prompt, type in

ipconfig /all

When clicking on the SHOW NETWORKS as i stated before it doesn't show anything but NO INTERNET down at the bottom. Before posting I already talked to tech support in regards to the driver on the website and all they stated was it should work. Don't need to talk with the internet company because internet is working. Took multiple cords and plugged into other devices and works. As in the statement meaning something else means it's got to be something else other than the driver and internet provider. Thanx for your replies.

Did you run the suggestion I mad on IPCONFIG /ALL

I suggest doing that and capturing that information.

Press Windows-key and hold and the  tap the X key to then choose Command prompt ( Admin )

ipconfig /all

What I can help you on, is, to check for malware and remove it, if it is found by a security tool.  Outside of that, I will have to refer you elsewhere.

What it seems to me is that this Windows configuration is missing the required settings for internet communication.

I had you run a procedure before on Tuesday to rebuild the Windows winsock  for the internet communication.

I ran those commands before you posted the bat ran it again and nothing. Will post the results for ipconfig /all in a few hours. That's why I posted here for possible malware because it had a bunch cleaned with the toolkit and then stopped working that's when I ran frst couldn't see anything but I'm still new with frst and posted to see if it was anything possible but Malwarebytes and adw cleaner don't see anything. It had McAfee and Symantec and both have been removed. Head been spinning. Installed new hdd and installed new os and connection works. When I plug in the old hdd no internet connection.

Allow me to add these tips, regarding the network adapter & its IP properties settings.
You can use the steps to Enable Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)  &  Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4 )
You want to be sure that both are enabled.
See the Option TWO in this article
https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/90033-enable-disable-ipv6-windows.html

As far as DNS server name addresses, you can choose either to "Obtain DNS server address automatically" or else pick either Google Pubic DNS, or else
Open DNS.    see the tips & chart on this article
See https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/77444-change-ipv4-ipv6-dns-server-address-windows.html
