Greetings,

Please try following the instructions in this topic to see if that resolves the issue.  It is likely the sync feature in Chrome causing these detections to return.

Please let us know how it goes and if the issue is now resolved.

Thanks

I had deleted chrome and the problem persists. I noticed that after Malaware quarantines pup.optional.legacy and I reboot the system and run the scan again, it is still there.

Do you have any other Chromium based browsers installed, for example Microsoft's new Chromium based Edge browser?  If so, that could be the reason for the ongoing detections.

You don't need to delete it; just try following the instructions from the link I posted above and that should enable you to remove those items without them coming back.

If that still doesn't do it then please read and follow the instructions in this topic and then create a new topic including the requested logs and info in our malware removal area by clicking here and one of our malware removal specialists will assist you in checking the system and clearing off any remaining threats and detections.

If you have the Chromium based version of Edge installed, then you'd follow the same instructions, but in Edge instead of Chrome (the settings/menus etc. should be pretty much the same).  If you don't have the Chromium based version of Edge installed then don't worry about it and just follow the instructions to post in the malware removal area and one of our malware removal specialists will guide you to find and eliminate this persistent PUP.
