MalwareBytes Locking up Line of Business Apps

Recommended Posts

MalwareBytes is causing our Windows 7 PC's  to lock up when trying to execute an

app that is hosted on a Windows server. Immediately upon clicking any .exe file hosted on the remote

server the machine becomes unable to launch any .exe's, even .exes on the PC. The only solution is

to reset the PC. De-installing MalwareBytes or disabling things related to File Execution inside of MB

fixes the issue. We are running the latest version of MalwareBytes Corporate Edition.

Honestly it doesnt seem to matter which exe I click on. However, the ones I have tried are editstat.exe, viewstat.exe, setup.exe. They are all related to an application called Fortis! File Magic. Bear in mind I have a half dozen other PC's that are running the same application combination without issue, with the same version of Malwarebytes which is why I dont understand why I can have it running on 6 of 8 machines. I have run mbar on them as a check and it doesnt find anything. Something is different but its difficult to test when the machine hard hangs every time. I will add this, when the PC hangs the system clock stops, if I let the PC sit for an hour, (no joke) the app will open and the clock will spring forward to present time.
