query about download for Android

Hi, I've been using your app for free on my phone. Last night it asked me to pay £10.99 to subscribe for a year and I'm happy to do that.

I gave my card details but was asked for my email password, which I'm not willing to give, so the transaction wasn't completed as far as I know.

My question is this, why do you want my email password?

I looked at your website and saw that the annual subscription is actually $29.99, so I'm wondering if the app message to subscribe was legit.

Let me know as I would like to subscribe.

Hi @Marychan,

The subscription is done through Google Play.  Thus, it may need your Google account information, which is most likely your email.  The 29.99 is mainly for PC, however you could technically use it on mobile.  Keep in mind that the 29.99 is by device, so you could only put it on one device.  The £10.99 via Google Play is definitely the way to go, and will follow you on any Android device you use your Google Account on.

Thanks Nathan. So is it usual that Google Play asks for my email password? I thought it was Malwarebytes asking for the password.

If you upgrade to premium within the Malwarebytes for Android app installed from Google Play, there is nothing to worry about.
