I have a premium version of Malwarebytes with a lifetime license. If I want to do a clean install of Windows 10 version 1903 I thought the best way to transfer Malwarebytes to this new system is
1. uninstall Malwarebytes using the Control Panel, 2. after that deactivate my device in 'My Account' which I find on the internet, 3. install Malwarebytes in the new system.
Is that right?

I ask this question because on another site I read that you just can use the tool mbam-clean-2.3.0.1001.exe
Does this tool do everything?

So, what is the most appopriate way to do this transfer?

Hi,

Do not use the tool mbam-clean-2.3.0.1001.exe

You should first of all  Deactivate the license from inside of the program itself.

You can transfer the license from a old computer to a new one. You would just first Deactivate the license on the old machine.

We have how to articles on how to do that.

Please see, online help article How-To: Deactivate or transfer the license in Malwarebytes 3

You may if you wish uninstall Malwarebytes  ( using the normal Windows uninstall).....but that is not a must do.  You can leave it be.

Then do your Microsoft Windows 10 version update.   You are saying you plan to do a Clean install of Windows 10

For  a new install on the new Windows pc.
Refer to KB article,
How to install Malwarebytes 3

Refer to KB article, How to activate Malwarebytes 3.

Let me know if you need other help,

Sincerely,

Thank you, that's all very clear: the most important thing to do, before doing a clean install, is to deactivate the license from within the program itself,
whether to uninstall or leave it installed, is voluntary.

I found that tool ' mbam-clean-2.3.0.1001.exe' somewhere on a site but wasn't sure about it, hence my question. Thanks for the clarification.
