Hi and thank you so much for your valuable time. I wasn't sure where to go with this because it may be a sensitive topic.

I posted yesterday about an issue I was having with leftover AVG and Firefox files with possible malware on my pc. I asked if someone could read my Addition file and let me know what I need to do. I had already scanned with MBAM and Adwcleaner it came back clean so I ran FRST. I posted that I wanted the avg and firefox files removed and to find out if I had malware when someone here replied to me and told me to use a fixlist he uploaded.

I asked what it was because I was worried it would mess my pc up and he said it was to fix my issues. Which I thought were just deleting avg and firefox related files. I had no idea what else was being done and had questions unanswered like if it was okay to run the fix after a new FRST scan but me being trusting of your forum ran it anyway. BIG mistake. I found out the person helping me isn't a staff member and I'm worried. This person does have thousands of replies though so that's why this feels so difficult .My pc is having a ton of issues that are way worse than just having avg or firefox lingering. Programs aren't running, my toolbar became unresponsive, services looks like it mostly all switched to manual and my event viewer is full of errors I have never seen I have no clue how to fix.

I feel like I have been hacked honestly.  You can go look at my post to see everything,  but honestly I just want to get my computer working again. I will be happy with how it was before this disaster! System restore made by FRST says no files were effected...which is even crazier! My log shows a ton of files were changed. I read staff members posts and they look a lot different than the member that helped me, I got a cut and paste reply and a file I had no clue about.  Please let me know the next course of action. Thank you for all that you do here!

I am trying to figure out how to fix what they did, not sure if that is common for a member to do but it doesn't seem right.

Kevin will do whatever is in his power to fix your issues.

Oh wow. A reinstall???? I came to get help with some lingering antivirus files which weren't really a big deal and I need a new computer now... Ummmm. My event viewer is showing a ton of errors I have never had, I brought that up but he didn't respond to me about that. Can i do anything with a system restore or is that redundant?

I would like to hear from others on what they think about this as well. I don't want to be afraid to use the forum.

I'm not staff, nor have I ever made a single penny from Malwarebytes - I've just been involved with using (and Beta testing their products) for a very, very long time.

Let me also assure you that Kevin did not mean to hose your computer in any way, manner, fashion, or form.  He is a very well respected (volunteer) member of the MB forum community who has tons of experience working with users to get their machines fixed.

I'm sure that he will be able to get you to a safe, working system soon enough.  You can take Porthos' an Advanced Setup's word on that.

I edited my post because were are not anywhere near that point yet. Anyway, That is the easy (for some and not for others) way out. Just give them the chance to fix you up.
