Cant sign in to account because "not setup"

Recommended Posts

When I try to access my account on malwarebytes website,  I want to check my license information, I get an error that my account is not "setup". I dont know what that means? It says I must check my mail for instructions. I dont know what mail this is, I dont see any mail from Malwarebytes and I have checked my junkmail too.

Screenshot of the error attached. How do I get access to my account?

Hi.

That means there was no pre-existing entry associated to that EMAIL account.   Q:  Had you bought a license thru Malwarebytes purchase page, before?

If you have to, you can Create a entry for the Email in MyAccount.

See this Support help article    https://support.malwarebytes.com/docs/DOC-1036

Also review the other articles listed at the bottom of that article.

Let me know just what it is that is your end goal   with all this.

Just to add a quick note; in addition to what Maurice mentions above, if you no longer have access to the email address you used when you originally purchased your license then you may need to add your license manually.  To do so, follow the instructions found in this support article once you have created your account at My.Malwarebytes.com using your current email address.

I have bought a licence years ago, it's a yearly recurring subscription. Yes I have access to the mail addressee I associated with the purchase, I have also lots of mails from mailwarebytes about my purchase when I search my mail for "malwarebytes"; order reference numbers etc.

In support article it is mentioned I must "find the invitation email sent to you". I cannot find such a mail, but as I understand the context now that mail would have been sent back when I bought my license, years ago. Must have been lost or maybe it went in junk and I never saw it and of course not its gone.

How do I get access to my account now?

My end goal is to login to my account so I can review my license information.

Login with the Email you used at the purchase from Malwarebytes event.

That same email is what you should use to login to Malwarebytes MyAccount.

https://my.malwarebytes.com/en/login

If you have misplaced or do not have the password for that login, use the blue "Forgot password" link.

Keep in mind that the Email has to be valid and active.

also, not to sidetrack you, but ....   You can look at each one of your machines and see its Status.

Start Malwarebytes >> click Settings >> click on "Account Details".

well, getting a new password worked. The error message kinda threw me off in a wrong direction, it didnt indicate a problem with the password. But thanks, I logged in now!

OK, that is great.   I would still suggest to look inside the program on each machine too.

Start Malwarebytes >> click Settings >> click on "Account Details".
