Need recommendations

Recommended Posts

I need something for a 2.5" hard drive, SATA 2 of course, with USB 2.0 connections for data and power. It needs to be relatively inexpensive (no more than $20), not super ugly, and effective (good transfer speeds) :P. Any ideas are welcome... This is only one I have seen that I like so far:

Thanks in advance!

I think you're on the right track. I usually look at the best selling (most reviews) and the highest ratings on NewEgg and then read the customer comments on the best choices. I just bought a Rosewill RX234 (unfortunately IDE) using that method for a 2.5" IDE drive that I have. The RX234 is simple and good looking.

This link shows 24 external 2.5" drive enclosures that are Sata II compatible at NewEgg.: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....e=SATA%20I%2fII .

Just got my hard drive yesterday. I'll take pictures when I get home this afternoon or tomorrow. I decided to go with a 2.5", 320GB, 7200RPM, 16MB cache WD Black Caviar drive with the mesh enclosure I linked to. It is so compact and perfect for my needs. The mesh seems to be keeping the drive very cool. The enclosure has a blue LED when it receives power and a red LED when it has activity.
