Trouble Updating MBW Premium

Recommended Posts

Got a notice to update my MWP premium account.  Wouldn't update, and got a pop up saying "The usage lever has exceeded the maximum installations allowed.  There is a problem with your license key and we are unable to activate your license.  Please select one of the following actions: Deactivate other devices."  I have my original e mail with my key and license #.  What do I need to do?

Hi Normar1949.

Sorry to read of all your trouble.

Which web browser did you use when you attempted to create a Support help ticket?  Please try using a different web browser.

As to your program now on the pc, it does have a 2 week Premium trial ....so at least your pc is still protected.

The message you reported

Quote

"The usage lever has exceeded the maximum installations allowed.

is the same as "maximun license activations exceeded".   Indicating that more that one machine has been activated with the same License key   ( key and ID if your license has 2 elements).

How many of your machines did you do activations on ?  How many "seats" for activation does your License have ?

Is your license a subscription ?

It would help to have those details.    Then I can provide further tips.

Sincerely,

Recall the original Email address you used on the original license purchase.

That same email is what you should use to login to Malwarebytes MyAccount.

https://my.malwarebytes.com/en/login

If you have misplaced or do not have the password for that login, use the blue "Forgot password" link.

Keep in mind that the Email has to be valid and active.

If you manage to get in there, The Subscriptions tab lists your Malwarebytes purchases and corresponding license keys.

You can Deactivate the license on that portal.  Then re-activate the license Keys in the program itself.

This is the Help article on activation    https://support.malwarebytes.com/docs/DOC-1142

Your Lifetime PRO license would have come with 2 "keys"   ( ie.   the ID & also the KEY).  Just be sure you enter them properly.

This is "a" help article on the My Account.   There are more.   https://support.malwarebytes.com/docs/DOC-1264

You never should put anything that shows the license keys.

I requested that image be removed.

Click the the small down arrow on the right.

You will see the Manage devices showing more detail.   Click the Deactivate button there.

Then go into the program itself and then re-activate.
