Thank you for the report file.   Just as an aside, this pc seems to have Kaspersky free.  Did you do a scan with Kaspersky ?

Did you just recently install Kaspersky?

There are traces of Avast antivirus.    The pc should only ever have just one installed antivirus.

I also see the Malwarebytes MBAR antirootkit standalone tool, & also the old mbamchameleon  ( please do not use the latter.  It is not in tune with Malwarebytes version 3.x ).

Please do not do any changes on your own.  Ask first if you have questions.

.

Please try uninstalling and reinstalling Malwarebytes for Windows using our Support tool. Let me know if that clears up the issue or not.

Uninstall and reinstall using the Malwarebytes Support Tool
https://support.malwarebytes.com/docs/DOC-2674

You already have the tool.  You do not need to re-download it.  mb-support-1.4.0.615.exe  is on the Downloads folder

Sincerely,

Scanning with kaspersky wouldn't tell me any specifics other than it was there, which eventually led to me just reinstalling google chrome which seemed to have fixed the problem. A full scan after that showed it was clean with kaspersky and another scan I did with Malwarebytes also showed to be clean. So looks like I'm all good now. Again I appreciate the help!

OK.  I am glad to hear all that.   You are welcome.  Always glad to help.

I just have 2 added tips.

See this article on our Malwarebytes Blog
https://blog.malwarebytes.com/security-world/technology/2019/01/browser-push-notifications-feature-asking-abused/

You want to disable the ability of each web browser on this machine from being able to allow "push ads". That means Chrome, Firefox, or Edge browser (on Windows 10), or on Opera.

Scroll down to the tips section "How do I disable them".

also, if you use Chrome or Firefox browser, install the Malwarebytes beta browser extension.  There is one for Chrome & another for Firefox.

To get & install the Malwarebytes beta Chrome extension,

Open this link in your Chrome browser: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/malwarebytes/ihcjicgdanjaechkgeegckofjjedodee

Then proceed with the setup.

I wish you all the best.  I will arrange to have this case closed.

Sincerely,

Maurice
