Additional Devices for Windows

Recommended Posts

Last year, my computer guy installed Malwarebytes on my laptop and my husband's. Both up for renewal. Paid 39.99 last year for each one separately. I just upgraded mine for another year. It says I can add another device for an additional $10. Would I be able to do this even though the other laptop has the program?  That one will expire on Saturday. Not sure if I'm going to have to repay 39.99 for that device as well. TIA

What Firefox states above is correct; you just need to cancel auto-renewal on your husband's license then you can buy the second device license when you renew yours and use the new license on his system.  You might be able to cancel auto-renewal on your own without needing to contact Support depending on who the billing company was for the license when it was purchased.  If it was Avangate or 2Checkout then you can cancel auto-renewal from the Malwarebytes My Account web portal at My.Malwarebytes.com; just go there and create an account using the same email address that was used when your husband's license was originally purchased (assuming you still have access to that email address of course) and it should show his license there automatically once you login.  Instructions on creating an account can be found in this support article and if the license was purchased through Avangate or 2Checkout then there should be an option there to cancel the subscription which will deactivate auto-renewal.  If it was purchased through Cleverbridge then you will need to contact Support as their system is not yet linked up fully to the My Account portal at My.Malwarebytes.com.

I hope this helps, and if there is anything else we might assist you with please let us know.

Thanks

Thank you for all of the information. My computer repair guy set it all up last year; I paid him at the time. I'm not really sure how it was processed. It is not on auto renewal. I will have to take a look and try to figure it out. Thanks again 🙂

Definitely was not on auto renewal.  The one I just purchased for my computer is now auto renewal.  I paid $10 for the additional device. Assigned the same key as my laptop. Pulled up my husband's information on his laptop, was able to click on the change license key tab. Put mine in. His is now updated on auto renewal till next year. Interestingly, the payment company for mine is Cleverbridge; the one for his is Avangate BV.  Maybe it's because I used two different cards for each purchase?  I'm glad I questioned this; just saved $29 😊

This brings me to a few more questions.  Does the company send an email prior to the renewal letting you know they're going to debit your card? Are you able to change back to manual renewal? And lastly, if for some reason you do not want to renew, how far in advance do you have to contact them to turn it off and to cancel?

I really appreciate everybody's help 🙂 thank you 🙂

I will answer this one. We computer techs whom are resellers have a portal for us. The old portal used to bill thru Cleverbrige the new portal for us is Avangate .

Yes, they should send a notification email (and you'll see alerts from the product as well) when the time is near.  You can cancel any time you wish as long as it is before the renewal date and you shouldn't be charged; and regarding changing back to manual renewal, for your husband's since it was purchased through Avangate you can cancel auto-renewal in the My Account portal at My.Malwarebytes.com, but for yours since it was processed through Cleverbridge you'll need to contact Malwarebytes Support to opt out.  If you ever do need to contact them simply fill out the form on the bottom of this page and inform them that you wish to cancel auto-renewal or cancel your subscription for your license and provide the necessary info such as the email address associated with your account/license, your license key, your order number if you still have it from your confirmation email from Cleverbridge etc. that way they can quickly find your license and cancel auto-renewal for it.

Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Thanks
