From one day to another I couldn't connect to my server with FileZilla and get the feeling it's being blocked somewhere since on my laptop it still works fine.

Is it possible that MalwareBytes is blocking something? Anyone any experience with this and how to solve it?

Thank you in advance.

Greetings,

You can test to determine if Malwarebytes is the cause by right-clicking on the Malwarebytes tray icon in the notification area near your system clock and selecting Quit Malwarebytes then clicking Yes to the User Account Control prompt.  Wait about 30 seconds to give Malwarebytes time to remove all of its drivers and processes from memory then try launching FileZilla once more and attempting to connect to your server.  If it works then Malwarebytes must be blocking it somehow, but if it still cannot connect then the problem must be elsewhere.

Also be aware that there is a fake version of FileZilla being deceptively advertised on the actual FileZilla download page, so make certain you're using the real version.  You'll find additional details about the fake in this topic.  The fake looks and behaves just like the real FileZilla, however it is bundled with PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) and may also contain some kind of hijacking and/or Trojan functionality so it is important to make sure you're running the real version.  I believe that Malwarebytes actually detects the PUP components bundled with the fake so you should perform a scan with Malwarebytes to make sure that nothing is detected on your system.
