Is Malwarebytes Windows Firewall Control part of Malwarebytes Premium insta

Recommended Posts

I have a lifetime license for Malwarebytes Premium and was a registered (paid) user of Binisoft Windows Firewall Control (now part of Malwarebytes).   If I uninstall Premium & Firewall Control and reinstall it will the Firewall Control component also be reinstalled?    It doesn't seem to be a separately downloadable product.

I plan to upgrade Windows 10 to the latest release (1809 -> 1903) and I find having Malwarebytes out of the way during the upgrade avoids issues.

Hello OldmainframeGuy  ,

The 2 programs you mention are separate programs.

As you know, Malwarebytes for Windows Premium is a separate product,  and does not include the Binisoft program.   They are each separate programs.

If you uninstall Malwarebytes for Windows, be sure you first Deactivate the Malwarebytes license first !

Malwarebytes >> Settings >> Account Details tab >>  then click Deactivate license.

By the way, Uninstalling Malwarebytes for Windows is NOT needed.  At most  ( at most) you can can just do a Right click on the Malwarebytes for Windows taskbar notification icon and then click "Quit Malwarebytes"  .....right before clicking on the Install button in the Windows Update applet  right at the time of the Windows 10 build 1903 upgrade.

That is the most that needs doing.

{  the Windows 10 Upgrade run is entirely done in a separate dedicated process.  In my entire 5+years of upgrading Windows 10, I have never uninstalled Malwarebytes prior to a Build Upgrade.

As I noted, the Binisoft  (now Malwarebytes )  Firewall program is separate. The Malwarebytes Firewall control can be downloaded from this link

Maurice:   Thank you for your helpful reply!   One more question please.  Does the current version of Malwarebytes Windows Firewall Control need to be activated?  I have an account on the Binisoft site to activate the product but I notice that the activation is only for release 5 and prior and the newest version is release 6.
