FredGreco Posted June 14, 2019 ID:1317067 Share Posted June 14, 2019 I updated to Windows 10 1903 yesterday, and now when I open MS Word, the Grammarly add-in causes Malwarebytes to close Word. I have confirmed this by disabling the add-in, which "stops" the problem. Is there a fix for this? Anyone else experiencing this? What can I temporarily turn off in Malwarebytes to get my Grammarly add-in to work?

Staff Patxi Posted June 19, 2019 Staff ID:1317817 Share Posted June 19, 2019 Hi, It would be interesting to have the logs of the Sysinternals tool "Process Monitor" during the reproduction of the issue. You can download the tool at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/procmon. If you need assistance on how to use the tool, do not hesitate to comment. Thanks, Patxi. MerrySherry Posted December 5, 2019 ID:1349109 Share Posted December 5, 2019 I am having exactly the same issue. Looks like this was also a problem back in 2016 with Grammarly and Malwarebytes.
MerrySherry Posted December 5, 2019 ID:1349112 Share Posted December 5, 2019 I downloaded the Grammarly latest update and applied it manually. Malwarebytes then behaved normally. It appears to be a problem between Grammarly updates with their Word app and Malwarebytes. MS Office does not recognize the Grammarly for Word app either - so something is amiss between these apps. At any rate, I can now open my Word documents without Malwarebytes thinking there is an eploit to block.
Staff Arthi Posted December 5, 2019 Staff ID:1349115 Share Posted December 5, 2019 Hi All, I pushed out an exclusion to avoid these blocks. You should not be seeing them anymore. Thanks.

ColbyH Posted February 21, 2020 ID:1363679 Share Posted February 21, 2020 I hope this can reach Arthi, this issue is back, and I'm having a difficult time getting an exception in place for this to work correctly until MWB's makes a new exception. Is there anyway I can create a working exception for this, unfortunately I cannot click the exploit box so I'm assuming the answer is no...
Staff Arthi Posted February 21, 2020 Staff ID:1363716 Share Posted February 21, 2020 Hi ColbyH, I just pushed out an exclusion to stop this detection, you should not see the blocks anymore. Thanks for reaching out.
