If you haven’t already done so, please run the Malwarebytes Support Tool and then attach the logs in your next reply:

NOTE: The tools and the information obtained is safe and not harmful to your privacy or your computer, please allow the programs to run if blocked by your system.

  1. Download Malwarebytes Support Tool
  2. Once the file is downloaded, open your Downloads folder/location of the downloaded file
  3. Double-click mb-support-X.X.X.XXXX.exe to run the program
    • You may be prompted by User Account Control (UAC) to allow changes to be made to your computer. Click Yes to consent.
  4. Place a checkmark next to Accept License Agreement and click Next
  5. You will be presented with a page stating, "Get Started!"
  6. Click the Advanced tab on the left column

  8. A progress bar will appear and the program will proceed with getting logs from your computer

  9. Upon completion, click a file named mbst-grab-results.zip will be saved to your Desktop. Click OK
  10. Please attach the file in your next reply. Before submitting your reply, be sure to enable "Notify me of replies" like so:

If Malwarebytes for Windows displays a website blocked notification, this indicates Web Protection has blocked a potentially harmful website.

The Web protection is keeping your pc safe & those are courtesy notices.

It does not mean there is actual 'malware'.   Too often, it is some add-on on the Chrome browser.

I will ge helping you.

Please run the Support tool as listed in the first ( automated) reply message.

In the meantime, please use any other web browser .... not Chrome.

Thanks for running the Support tool.

Since I see there are a number of pending file Rename operations for Windows that require a Windows Restart, lets first take a few minutes.....

do a Windows Restart.

NOTE for action on your part:  Windows reports that its System Restore service is off.  This is a key Windows safety feature and you need to make time to turn System Restore back ON.

You need to have System Restore ON  & protecting the C drive   ( the Windows drive)

Next, 2 things.   The first is to help clean up the Chrome browser cache.

I am sending a custom Fix script which is going to be used by the FRSTENGLISH tool. They will both work together as a pair.

Please RIGHT-click the (attached file named) FIXLIST and select SAVE AS and save it directly ( as is) in the Downloads folder 

The tool named FRSTENGLISH is already on the Downloads folder.

Start the Windows Explorer and then, open the Downloads folder.


Double click FRSTENGLISH to run the tool. If the tool warns you the version is outdated, please download and run the updated version.
Click the Fix button just once, and wait.

PLEASE have lots and lots of patience when this starts. You will see a green progress bar start. Lots of patience. Some machines take longer than others.
If you receive a message that a reboot is required, please make sure you allow it to restart normally.
The tool will complete its run after restart.
When finished, the tool will make a log ( Fixlog.txt) in the same location from where it was run.

I would suggest to download, Save, and then run Malwarebytes ADWCLEANER.

Please close Chrome and or any open web browser after you have saved the Adwcleaner and before you start Adwcleaner.

Please download the current release for Malwarebytes AdwCleaner from here:

Go to the folder where you saved Adwcleaner. Double click Adwcleaner to start it.

At the prompt for license agreement, review and then click on I agree.

 

You will then see a main screen for Adwcleaner. ( if you do not see it right away, minimized the other open windows, so you can see Adwcleaner).

 

Then click on Dashboard button.

Click the blue button "Scan Now".

 

allow it a few minutes to finish the Scan.

 

You should then see a screen showing "Scan results".

Review what is listed. If something is listed that you know for sure is safe, then for that line, click the check-box on the left so that it is un-checked.

(NOTE, clicking the small right pointed little arrow, will cause the screen to refresh & show all line items . )

 

When ready, click on the button "Clean and repair".

If prompted to restart then click on "Clean & Restart Now".

 

When You see screen with "Your cleanup is complete", click on the View Log file button.

It should then show as a open window in your text editor ( normally Notepad).

Do a File >> Save As, given it a unique name and Save to your Desktop or some other permanent folder.

 

Kindly provide a copy of that run report. Attach it with reply.

 

When done with Adwcleaner, click the X button to Exit out.

Please also attach the Fixlog.txt in your reply.

Thank you for the reports.  The Adwcleaner run is very good.  Nothing malicious reported.

As to the other run, the FRST Fix, unfortunately, it appears to not have done anything.

Q:  How are things as concerns any repeated website block notices ?

 

Run a scan with Malwarebytes.
Start Malwarebytes from the Start menu.

Click Settings. Then click the Protection tab.
Scroll down and lets be sure the line in SCAN OPTIONs for "Scan for rootkits" is ON
Click it to get it ON


Click the SCAN button.
Select a Threat Scan ( which should be the default).

When the scan phase is done, be real sure you Review and have all detected lines items check-marked on each line on the left. That too is very critical.

Then click on Quarantine selected.

 

Be sure all tagged items were removed, if anything was flagged.



When that is completed, kindly send the report.
In Malwarebytes.
Click the Reports button ( on the left )
Look for the "Scan Report" that has the most recent Date and time.

When located, click the check box for it and click on View Report.
Then click the Export button at the bottom left.
Then select Text File (*.txt)

Put in a name for that file and remember where the file is created.

Then attach that file with your reply.    Thank you.

Thanks for the Malwarebytes scan report.  There is no malware here.

I would like for you to be using Edge or Firefox for the next 2 or 3 days.

That will be a test period to see whether any Block events happen with those.

Please stop using Chrome browser during that period.

I believe that the Chrome browser has some "add on" that is tripping it up into a website block event.

Using Chrome, just one time,   I need you to go to https://www.google.com/settings/chrome/sync and sign into your account.
Scroll down until you see the "reset sync" button and click on the button
At the prompt click on "Ok".

Then please Close Chrome.

Look on your Downloads folder ......C:\Users\sharm\Downloads

Delete the file named FIXLIST.txt
