Can't find or remove logineasier.com

Recommended Posts

Normally, popups in the upper right corner of your screen come from Notifications. A screen shot of the popup might help here.

It would appear to be a browser extension for whatever browser you commonly use and I see that in Firefox there is a preference that will allow them to send notifications, so if it were me I would examine the Extensions or Add-Ons for that browser and remove any you don't recognize.

Hi @PeggyJ,

This is not due to malware. That site is able to send notifications, which would have that appearance.

You would have been tricked into allowing that site to send you notifications at some point in the past.

Refer to below article and change the notification settings for websites

for Chrome

https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/3220216?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en

For Firefox

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/push-notifications-firefox

For Safari

https://support.apple.com/en-am/guide/safari/customize-website-notifications-sfri40734/mac

Refer to blog on browser push notification > https://blog.malwarebytes.com/security-world/technology/2019/01/browser-push-notifications-feature-asking-abused/

This is not malware, and there's no need to turn off the computer for an hour. This is a legitimate feature of Chrome, being abused by that site, and you must properly remove the logineasier[.]com notification setting from Chrome.

The site will ask you to allow notifications:

Once you have done so, in order to remove them, you have to follow the instructions on the Google page linked to by adas:

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More More and then Settings.
  3. At the bottom, click Advanced.
  4. Under "Privacy and security," click Site settings.
  5. Click Notifications

Once you are there, you must remove it from the list of sites that have been allowed to send notifications, by clicking on the button that looks like three vertical dots to the right of the site URL and clicking Remove in the menu that appears:
