According to the logs you posted it looks like the WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) service was disabled for some reason.  Malwarebytes along with many other programs as well as many components of Windows itself depend on this service to function.  A fix for the service is included in the repair routine in the Malwarebytes Support Tool which explains why the problem was resolved by running the repair function.

With that said, there are some malware infections known to disable the WMI service so please be sure to scan your system with Malwarebytes just to make sure that there are no threats on the PC, and if there is anything else you have trouble with please let us know.
