I thought Malwarebytes was helpful and it was. But now I feel this program is a virus. the reason why I feel this is true; it starts when it wants not when I request it, it interrupts my programs that I'm using and stops the programs or shuts them off until it is finished, it uses a lot of CPU time whenever I'm using my computer especially when I'm offline and now it/this company says my e=mail address is not valid even though Malwarebytes e-mails and adds are being sent to me right now.

By the way I feel that this program has even killed my battery. I very rarely go on line because when I work and do things on my Notebook I don't need to be on-line, since I'm in areas where being on-line is not possible. This means if I'm not on-line no checks need to be done. So why does Malwarebytes keep turning on my computer and running checks without asking me. Then shortly after doing an update my computers battery died.

Greetings,

It sounds like perhaps the scheduled scan is causing issues.  You may disable it if you wish by opening Malwarebytes and navigating to Settings>Scan Schedule and selecting any scheduled scans listed and clicking the Delete button.

I'm not sure what programs it is shutting off or why, but if Malwarebytes is detecting/blocking any programs that you use then you should exclude them if you do not want them to be blocked/quarantined by Malwarebytes assuming they are not threats (for example, if they are being detected as PUPs/Potentially Unwanted Programs).  To do this, in Malwarebytes navigate to Settings>Exclusions and follow the instructions in this support article under the Exclude a File or Folder section of the article, excluding the program folders of any applications that Malwarebytes is detecting that you don't want it to.

As for Malwarebytes not starting when you want it to, assuming you are referring to when you start your system, there is a known issue that sometimes occurs if fast startup is enabled in Windows 10.  This feature is known to cause problems with many applications and drivers due to Microsoft's implementation of the feature.  You can learn more about it and find information on how to check if it is on as well as disable it if you wish to here as well as here.

I'm not sure where you are seeing Malwarebytes saying that your email address is not valid, however if it is at My.Malwarebytes.com then I would suggest contacting Malwarebytes Support directly so that they can assist you with that.  You may do so by filling out the form on the bottom of this page.  They have direct access to the licensing system and should be able to help you with any problems you might be having with your account.

If that does not resolve any of the issues you are experiencing please let us know, and also please provide the following so that we may take a look at your Malwarebytes installation to determine what might be causing the issues:

  1. Download and run the Malwarebytes Support Tool
  2. Accept the EULA and click Advanced tab on the left (not Start Repair)
  3. Click the Gather Logs button, and once it completes, attach the zip file it creates on your desktop to your next reply

Thanks

And just how do you think other Antivirus programs do work? They only will use more memory and slow down your computer more! Malwarebytes is a more lightweight program.

You want an antiviral program protecting you, but you do no want it start when you use your computer? Its like waiting until your house is on fire and then request help, instead off protecting your house from fire, or have some things inside that warn you BEFORE fire is starting.

And furthermore, a program that is killing your battery??? First time i hear this in 20 year. It is normal that with more programs you did install, more energy is needed to do the job. Again like install an radio in your car, and then complain it is killing your battery because it uses energy from it.
