Yesterday I  joined a website called Neighborhood.com sent to me by a neighbor on my street in NJ.stating it was a safe, secure website.  Today I received an email from a man in Japan. Did I join a bad site? Can I get rid of this on my computer? I am very scared.

I don't know anything about that site, although it doesn't seem to load correctly. Perhaps you're referring to myneighborhood . com? Either way, I'm not finding any signs that these sites are malicious.

Receiving junk e-mail from strangers is, unfortunately, normal life on the internet for most people. It may be connected to submitting your e-mail address to a site that sold it to advertisers, but it's not a reason for fear.
