Cannot install MWB

I wish to install MWB. It downloads into my download folder, then I open it. The small screen pops up and asks if I want to run the installer. I click Run.

Then nothing else happens. Same thing happened when I tried to install AdwCleaner.

Suggestions?

1. Download Malwarebytes Support Tool
2. Once the file is downloaded, open your Downloads folder/location of the downloaded file
3. Double-click mb-support-X.X.X.XXXX.exe to run the program
   • You may be prompted by User Account Control (UAC) to allow changes to be made to your computer. Click Yes to consent.
4. Place a checkmark next to Accept License Agreement and click Next
5. You will be presented with a page stating, "Get Started!"
6. Click the Advanced tab on the left column
   
7. Click the Gather Logs button
   
8. A progress bar will appear and the program will proceed with getting logs from your computer
   
9. Upon completion, click a file named mbst-grab-results.zip will be saved to your Desktop. Click OK
10. Please attach the file in your next reply. Before submitting your reply, be sure to enable "Notify me of replies" like so:

Does the system seem to be infected?  If so it may be the result of an infection stopping the Malwarebytes programs from installing.  It's a fairly common issue with certain infections these days, particularly certain PUPs, adware and rootkit infections.  Please try running Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit and if it is able to run, have it scan the system and remove any threats it finds, restarting if prompted to do so to complete the removal process.

If that didn't resolve the issue or if Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit would not run either then please follow the instructions in this topic and create a new topic in the malware removal area including the requested logs and info by clicking here and one of our malware removal specialists will assist you in checking and cleaning the system of any threats which should hopefully resolve the problem and allow you to install Malwarebytes properly.
