Hello,

I recently downloaded the trial version of Malwarebytes because my Chrome browser has been hijacked by mapsnow.co. Unfortunately, I cannot find the app on my MacBook Pro and Malwarebytes isn't finding it either. How do I get rid of this pesky hijacker? Please help!

Hi.

See about doing the following.   The aim is to locate any Chrome addition named "mapsnow" or "maps"   & if found remove it.

On the Apple menu bar, click Chrome and then select Preferences.

In the left-pane of the Settings page, do the following: Select Extensions.

If you find any suspicious extension "maps"  in the list, click the Trash icon to remove it.

We can probably give you clearer instructions if you explained in more detail what you mean by “hijacked”. Did it capture your homepage or your search engine or are you seeing something else here?

Problem was fixed..yes my Chrome browser homepage, which happened to be Google was being redirected. Thank you anyway!
