MBAM 3 premiume and Bitdefender Total Security 2019

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I contacted Bitdefender support about a Bitdefender VPN issue and they informed me that Bitdefender Total Security 2019 is only fully compatible with MBAM 3 free and suggested turning off Real time protection in MBAM. As far as I am aware I have had no compatibility issues and both software suites run OK together. (The VPN issue was not related to a  compatibility issue but they still advised me to turn off MBAM 3 real time protection).

I have read a few posts on the topic suggesting entering MBAM files in Bitdefender exclusions ( I did this when I had Kaspersky) but everything seems to be working OK.

Would appreciate any advice or feedback on this topic.

Greetings,

I'm not aware of any compatibility issues between the two products and have seen several users mentioning using that combination on their own systems so I don't think you'll have any trouble.  We have seen occasional compatibility issues in the past with some previous versions of Bitdefender, but it's been quite some time since any of those were reported and I haven't heard of any issues at all with the latest version.

I hope this helps and if there is anything else we might assist you with please let us know.

Thanks

 Hi exile360,

Thanks for your advice, that is reassuring. I hadn't been aware of any compatibility issues either until contacting Bitdefender. Perhaps they are just covering themselves and it is a standard response based on commercial rather than technical considerations

Yes, I suspect you are correct.  They likely are just covering their bases just to be safe.

@Munchkin

I have been running MBAM Premium with Bitdefender Total Security for years now, without any issues.  Bitdefender is, as you surmised, just covering their bases, in case MBAM or BD should have some type of incompatibility issue in the future, which, of course, both companies would seek to resolve quickly.

Have a great day.

Regards,
-Phil
